This file contains papers from the year 1872 that pertain to the Fire Department.
A) There are 4 petitions.
1) A petition from the Liberty Hose Fire Association requesting repairs to the floor of their quarters with11 signatures.
2) A petition to purchase a New Steam Fire Engine with 18 signatures.
3) A petition from the Board of Engineers for the purchase of 1000 feet of leather hose and one or more Steam Fire engines with 10 signatures.
4) A petition from the Board of Firewards and others for a sum of money, not more than $1000, for the Fire Department for the next year and the authorization for the purchase another Steam Fire Engine with 18 signatures.
B) A message from the Marblehead National Bank that the rent for the room for the Mugford Engine after Jan 1, 1872 will be $100.
C) Two receipts from men for as payment for night Watching for fire at the Catholic Church on July 28 & 29, 1872.
D) A receipt from the Town Treasurer for $1.25 from the sale of a pump.
E) Eight receipts for attending Superior court in May and July 1872.
F) One receipt from Endicott & Fabens for $250 for legal services.
G) Forty-two receipts for material and services on printed bill heads.
H) One hundred & Forty-eight hand written receipts for material and services.
