This file contains papers concerning elections in Marblehead and elections for Massachusetts & Federal Offices 1. Six letters from the Governor of Massachusetts to the Selectmen of Marblehead about elections for state and federal elections in the years 1789, 1792, 1820, 1822, 1834, & 1838. Some contain the candidates and the number of voters for each. 2. Nineteen instructions by the Board of Selectmen to the Constables to notify the people of elections. These instructions were issued on: 26 Oct. 1816; 26 Oct. 1818; 8 Oct. 1820; 13 Oct. 1820; 26 Oct. 1822; 22 Feb. 1823; 23 Oct. 1824; 27 Oct. 1828; 28 Jan., 20 Mar., 20 May, & 9 Dec. 1843; 7 Dec. 1846; 18Dec. 1848; 5 & 20 Aug. 1850; 6 Jan, 5 Mar. & 9 May 1851. 3. A note as to how the papers should be returned to the Secretary's office in Boston. 4. A paper similar to # 1 above but addresses to the Selectmen in Lynnfield dated 10 Dec. 1792. |
