This folder, labeled "Town Meeting - Undated," contains the following: 1. Letter to John S. Atkins, a constable of Marblehead, commanding him to notify and warn qualified voters to meet at Town Hall to vote on town clerk, selectmen, assessors, Overseers fot he Poor, town treasurer, school committee, surveyors of highway, constables, sythingmen and fire wards, field drivers, fence viewers, surveyors of lumber, measurers of wood and bark, all other necessary officers, salaries of elected officials, town tax on polls and estates of the town, undated. On the reverse side, the names of Benjamin G. Hathaway, Phillip Goodwin and William C. Hunneman & Co. are written with the dates 1850 and 1845 and th ewords new school house and engine. 2. Slip of paper, a vote taken by the town to bring to justice person or persons responsible for "revolting acts" at the Town House. 3. Slip of paper, a vote taken by the town to authorize the treasurer to provide money necessary to renew or replace any portion of the town debt. 4. Minutes of meeting containing issues pertinent to the town treasurer. Signed by Nathan B. Martin and John Hooper, undated. 5. Slip of paper, a vote by the town (illegible and undated). 6. Slip of paper, a vote (mostly illegible and undated). 7. Request for a town meeting to vote on issues related to the town treasury. Signed by Nathaniel Goldsmith, John Lewis, John Orne, John Prentiss, Simon Stone, A.C. Orne, Henry Rea, Benjamin D. Dixey and A.R. Knight. 8. List supplied to Everett Paine, Town Treasurer, by Stephen C. Felton, Town Clear, appropriations voted on at the town meeting for sums directed to town departments. |
