This file contains receipted invoiced for work and materials billed to the Town for celebrations, and other material pertaining to holiday celebration in the 19th century. 1. (No date) Town in amount of $40 with Simon A. Stone for firing salute and refreshments for 4th of July $40 2. 1817) A constable's warrant for a town meeting on 11 June 1817 "to see what order the Town will take, respecting receiving and paying suitable attention to the President of the United States now on tour through the United States". Signed by John Prince, Benj. Knight, John Bailey, Selectmen and Jospeh Cloutman Constable. 3. 1826 Town to Joseph Cloutman for notifying and waiting on Committee of Arrangements and Master of Ceremonies $6.00. 4. 1824 Town bill to Commonwealth for providing breakfast for General Fayette visit $107.43. Capt. Wm Hooper recd payment. 5. 1828 Invitation to Richard Homan by the Committee to Overseers of the Poor to to join in celebrating the Anniversary of American Independence. 6. 1833 town to J. Graves, $1.76, the other to the July Celebration Committee from Jennie Smith for " 268 Printed Circular" $4.87. 39. 1896) A receipts to the Town of Marblehead for $200 for Memorial Day dated June 5th 1889.by John B. Graves 40. 1899) Two receipts to the Town. The first is dated Jan. 2, 1892 from N. Allen Lindsey & Co. for various printed items including "75 poetale.(sic.) Anniversary Com. 1.75." The other is from "John Goodwin Jr. Post 82, G. A.
