This file from the Marblehead Fire Wards/Marblehead Fire Department contains: 1) 136 handwritten receipted invoices for labor and/or materials& supplies. 2) 48 receipted invoices for services/materialson printed billheads. 3) 15 cashed checks drawn on the Marblehead National Bank 4) One receipt on a printed letter head from the M. A. Picket Engine Co. to the Fire Wards for $250.00 for the years service ending April 30th 1886. 5) A certificate from the City Weigher at the City Scales for a load of Hay of 3380 Net Weight with a fee of 17 cents. 6) A note from the Town Clerk's Office saying that the Firewards are allowed to run the "Water Cart" and pay the expenses from the receipts. Note:This file covers 5 years up to the great fire of December 25,1888. |
