Folder labeled "Town Farm" containing the following 7 items: 1. Letter from Leverett Saltonstall dated July 15, 1837 regarding his opinion on town meeting votes about Devereux Farm 2. April 1, 1839 Town of Marblehead to W. Howe for repairing of necessity and improvement ion the Town Farm according to the terms of lease - $280. (Said lease approved by the Selectmen and ending April 1839). 3. Petition signed by 10 legal voters requesting the Town reconsider the vote to sell the Town Farm dated Feb. 26, 1839. Peter Dixey, Thomas Goodwin, Thomas Snow, James Smith, James Cloutman, Jeremiah Smith. 4. Report from the Farm Committee regarding the lease of the Town Farm signed by Wm. Hawkes. 5. Note on Resolution passed at Town Meeting on April 17, 1839 regarding taking down the Old Alms house and rebuilding on the new Town Farm site. 6. Note on Resolution that the Town reserves the right of taking ballast and gravel from the beaches now belonging to the Town Farm. 7. Note on Resolution that the selectmen be authorized to sell the Town Farm at public auction. |
