This file contains: Two letters from Joshua Williams, (another man unreadable signatures) and Thomas Hancock concerning assistance for Widows and children of men lost on the Providence Snow, commanded by Capt. Joseph Smethurst. These letters were directed to the Selectmen of Marblehead. One was dated Boston December 12, 1745 the other Jan. 24. Another letter from the Overseers of the Poor of the Town of Marblehead to the Court in Salem in 1746 concerning this loss. It was signed by Benjamin Heddly, E. Stacey, Jacob Fowler, Richard Reed, and Robert Hooper. Three small receipts from persons receiving of some of the assistance, |
