This file contains papers concerning the start of the Revolution from 1776 to 1779 They contain warrants for Town Meetings on various subjects, List of names of owners and/or skippers if fishing vessels and their plans to stay in harbor or go fishing at sea, other papers are concerned with the defense of the Town, and pay for the troops, guns and cannons. They are in a plastic bag labeled: "39 PAPERS FOR THE YEARS 1776 THROUGH 1779" This file also contains papers in the years 1780 after 1780 in a second plastic bag labeled: "18 PAPERS FOR THE YEARS AFTER 1780"
