Inside cover "In Memoriam" to "our departed comrades" "the brave men and women who ride ahead" A foreword by Dennis Maguire Several pages of Marblehead history and photos of local scenes, many are inscribed "Compliments of-" a local merchant or resident. The events program start on August 22 at Devereux Beach and Marblehead Neck with a bicycle race then animal acts and novice boxing at the School St. Fire Station and ending with a Baseball game under the lights at Seaside park. On Saturday August 23 there is a softball game at Memorial Park and a Baby Doll Carriage Parade. This is followed at 1:00 PM by a Parade with a flyby of planes from the Squantum Navy Base. After this there are several activities at Seaside park. Later on Saturday evening there are Surf Boat Races,Harbor Parade, Harbor Illumination and Fireworks. Sunday August 24 Church services are held with a one minute of silence at a memorial service at Crocker Park, followed by a Band Concert and open air Vesper services at 5:00 PM. There is a list of the Board of Selectmen, a list of donors, a list of participating organizations, and a list of parade officials. |
