Newspaper article "Chapter VI, Story Grammar School Opened October 1882, 31 Boys Graduated", by Frank L. Bessom, with photo of the New Story Grammar School, erected 1880 and summary of School Reports for the years 1882 though 1884.
The new brick Story Grammar opened Oct. 1881 and all classes from the Back Street Building moved in.
In 1883 the Intermediate and Grammar schools were unified. The Cottage Street school was closed. The school house on Barnard street was occupied by the Barnard, Cowell, Washington and Tucker primaries.
