This file contains 8 Items to the Assessors of Marblehead 1) A printed letter from the Massachusetts Bank of Boston noting that the cash market value of their stock as of May 9, 1853 was $256.25 2)A handwritten list of seven Banks in Salem with a value or percent next to the name, the names of two Insurance companies with percentage and the names of thw other banks with values or percents. 3) A letter from the Danvers Savings Bank noting that Andrew Comer had a deposit of $667.00 as for the first of May (no year) 4) Five list of depositors in the Salem Saving Bank for the years 1852, 1854, 1856, 1857 and 1861. As these papers were collected over a period of 10 years and were stored in various unknown buildings and places were retrieved and sorted by volunteers in 1965 (about 100 years or more after they were made) and remained apparently undisturbed since then the papers we have are in good condition. However some have been water damaged. |
