Mercantile Marine Ins. Office Boston, May 1, 1860 - To the Assessor - The following is owner of Stock in this Corporation par value $100 per share - Henry Hooper - 9. 3. A list or valuation of all Rateable property for the Town of Marblehead taken by order of the General Court in May 20, 1789 - Frank, Felton, Stephen Phillips, Saml. Gatchel, Wm. Williams, John Gerry. 4. February 9, 1864 - Sir, Pay to William Sparhawk (collector of Taxes_ $377.67 being the amount of his commission on the List of Taxes collected for 1863 - to wit 97 c on 100 dollars in accordance with the vote of the Town. Marblehead, April 10, 1839 letter from Francis Parton to the Assessors of Marblehead stating that taxes be abated in relation to mortgaged property. I am willing to pay ten dollars a year and I think it a full and liberal part, under the circumstancws and the law collectively considered. 8. Letter to the Assessors of the Town from J.H. Brown, Town Treasurer stating that the inhabitants of Marblehead at their annual meeting in 1841 voted to raise a sum of money $11,000 to defray the expense of said Town and that you were to assess the said sum and make a list of the names of the persons you assess and the said sum. 9. Letter to the Assessors of the Town from J.H. Brown, Town Treasurer stating that the inhabitants of Marblehead at their annual meeting in 1866 voted to raise a sum of money $38,000 to defray the expense of said Town and that you were to assess the said sum and make a list of the names of the persons you assess and the said sum. 10. Letter dated August 1, 1840 to William Wade, Treasurer of Essex County, from Selectmen J. Sparhawk, Nath. Lindsey, H. Selman stating they have assessed the sume of $1840 on the town and advised Benjamin Brown to collect and pay said amount to William Wade on or before the last day of December. 11. February 9, 1841 letter from Nath Lindsey, Assessor to Robt. C. Hooper, Esq. concerning Mrs. Blackler's stating that the board did not feel authorized to act upon the subject and that they were ready to meet with a representative of Mr. Blackler. 12.
